The moving mechanism is designed for manual operation, on slatted venetian blinds with pref. vertically mounted slats which can be both swivelled about their longitudinal axis and moved to and for crossways, using an operating rod parallel to their longitudinal axis. A turning movement of this rod (2) is transmitted to the slats by a mitre gear which is displaceably housed in the guide-rails. This is effected in such a way that they carry out a turning movement. Crossways movement of the slats (11) is effected by displacement of the drive housing by means of the operating rod. The mitre gear may be provided by a pair of helical wheels, and there may be one or two such drives.
