Hinge for furniture panels with stay - has spring loaded tubular stay pivoted on hinge members

The hinge fitting is for panels pivoting about horizontal hinges used in furniture. The hinge members are connected on the panel and on the frame of the opening closed by the panel. The hinge system is readily installed and it forms also a stable stay arrangement. Both hinge fitting parts (1, 2) are connected directly to form a pivoted hinge. The pivot points (32, 46) of the stay rod (3) and of the two hinge parts (1, 2) are in a common plane. The hinge parts are of unequal length and the second (2) hinge part is stepped near the hinge pivot so that its major flat part is held on the edge of the frame (16). The stay rod (3) accommodates a spring (30). The pivot block for the second hinge member slides against this spring. The connecting pin is guided by a slot in the stay.
