The crankshaft milling machine has a first motor (2) rotating the crankshaft (1) to be machined, and a first impulse generator (4) connected to the first motor (2) to produce an impulse signal corresponding to the first motor speed. A meter (6a) picks up the impulse signal, and passes it on through two more meters (6b, 11) to a feeder connection (12) which is connected to a control box and back to the first impulse generator (4) again. The control box evaluates signals from the feed signals and from the first impulse generator. This signal is picked up by a servo amplifier which drives a motor for moving the cutting tool (7) normal to the axis of the crankshaft to be milled.
