1524347 Selective printing OKI ELECTRIC INDUSTRY CO Ltd 4 April 1977 [5 April 1976 30 Aug 1976] 14129/77 Heading B6F [Also in Division H5] A thermal print head comprises a dielectric support 10 and mutually electrically insulated heater units 11-18 each comprising a first conductive layer forming the heater element and being arranged in a "snaking" path, and each having a pair of straight connecting leads 21-28, 41-48 also forming part of the first layer each lead being plated with a material 51-58, 71-78 of higher electrical conductivity than that of the lead. The first layer is nickel, chromium, aluminium, platinum, tungsten, molybdenum or titanium. The plating is gold, silver or copper. Dimensions are given. A further layer of, e.g. chromium or NiCr may be used between the first layer and the support 10.
