The golf ball is held on a support in front of a vertical panel which can be either flat or slightly curved. An electronic signal is generated when the ball is hit and another signal is generated at the time of impact of the ball on the panel. An electronic calculator computes from this the trajectory and the distance which the ball would have travelled in the absence of the panel. The panel can have two sheets of conductors, one vertical and one horizontal, to form a rectangular mesh with holes the size of the diameter of the ball.
