The regulating control, used for a time switch, e.g. for a central heating system, has a fixed index (7) and a regulating knob (3) carrying a second index (3a), which rotates with the knob (3). A ring (5) concentric with the regulating knob (3) is rotated independently of the knob, this ring carrying a time scale, e.g. denoting a 24 hour period, for cooperating with the fixed and rotatable indexes (3a, 7). The ring may be markes with two concentric time scales, one cooperating with the fixed index (7) and the other with the rotatable index (3a).
