In Fig. 3 the plunger 1 is cooled by water fed in through inlet 12, space 8 and holes 11 to the space 10 from which it is removed through outlet 13 and the nose 3 is supplied with coolant (e.g. air) through inlet 14 and pipe 17 with removal through outlet 15. The pressed articles may be the funnel part of a glass television tube.
