Novel substituted 1H-(pyridino-[3,2-e]-2,1,3-thiadiazin-(4)-one 2,2-dioxides) of the formula I IMAGE in which R1 denotes hydrogen, a straight-chain aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having up to 10 carbon atoms, a cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon radical having 3 to 7 carbon atoms, a branched aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having 3 to 10 carbon atoms or a halogen-substituted alkyl radical having 2 to 10 carbon atoms and R2 denotes hydrogen, a metal atom or an optionally substituted ammonium atom, which are distinguished by a good herbicidal activity, are used for controlling undesired vegetation and as an active ingredient in herbicidal compositions.
