An improved fermentation trough air seal for us in tea fermenting troughs comprising an air-inflated tube of bellow-shape cross section and made of non-porous resilient material, such as herein described, said tube being fitted at the joining line between the upper edge of a saddle of the trough and the lower edge of a fermenting container removable disposed on top of the saddle, said tube being adapted to conform to the shape and dents, if any, of the lower edge of the fermenting container to define a fool-proof air seal, when the container is placed on the saddle.
