Compounds are prepared having the formula: (RxSn)n (-SR'COOR'') (4-x)n-2m (-Sy-)m WHERE THE TIN IS TETRAVALENT, R is alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms or benzyl, R' is alkylene of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R'' is alkyl or alkenyl of 1 to 18 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl of 5 to 6 carbon atoms in the ring or benzyl, x is 1 or 2, y is 2 to 4, n is 1 to 10 and m is 1/2 n to n. The compounds are useful as stabilizers for polyvinyl chloride and other halogen containing polymers.
