p1496117 Herbicidal antidote composition STAUFFER CHEMICAL CO 2 Aug 1976 [8 Aug 1975 10 June 1976] 32061/76 Heading A5E A herbicidal composition comprises a thiol carbamate herbicide and an antidote therefor corresponding to the formula: wherein R 1 represents H, alkenyl or C 1 -C 4 alkyl and R 2 represents alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, dimethoxyethyl or 1-ethynylcyclohexyl. The preferred thiol carbamates are S-ethyl dipropyl thiol carbamate, S-ethyl diisobutyl thiol carbamate, S-propyl di-n-propyl thiolcarbamate, S-ethyl cyclohexyl ethyl thiol carbamate and 2, 3, 3-trichloralkyl N, N diisopropyl thiol carbamate. Other herbicides e.g. triazines and carbo thioates may also be present. Preferred antidotes include N-t-pentyl 2, 3 dibromopropionamide, N (dimethyl-2-butynyl) 2, 3 dibromopropionamide, N-(1-ethynylcyclohexyl)- 2, 3-dibromopropionamide and N-t-butyl 2, 3- dibromopropionamide. The composition may be formulated with the usual solid and liquid carriers and additives, and is useful for treating small grain crops.
