The burner tube (17) is formed by trough-shaped parts (18) and (19). The two parts are angled in longitudinal direction and form flanges (20) and (21) which are joined together and tightly welded. The bottom of the lower part (18) is penetrated by riser pipe (1) with an enlarged part inside the burner tube in form of a plenum chamber. - The plenum chamber is fitted with branch pipe (2) which extends over part of the length of the burner tube. The upper trough-shaped part (19) carries the main jets (11) on both sides of the apex of the pitched roof-shaped trough. The expansion chamber (24) communicates with the inside of burner tube (17) via throttling holes (28). Part (25) is provided with a longitudinal opening (29) forming a collar (30) which surrounds the top part of the pitched roof element (19).
