A cast aluminum - plunger piston for internal combustion engines with pressed bolt hubs regions

The plunger piston pin bore region consists of an aluminium alloy which is bonded to the remaining cast structure. The advantage claimed is that the piston pin region can be pressed before joining to the cast piston material. The metal grains are arranged to run in a circumference direction to the piston pin bore to avoid fractures. The pressed region is afterwards moulded with the whole piston of the same alloy.
