The metal profile window frame has an elastic glazing profile assembly adjoining it, transversely to the plane of the glass pane, combining with an outside stem to form a glazing channel which grips the pane edge. There is a retainer flange (6) projecting inwards parallel to the pane, towards the window opening, at a set interval (d) crossways, and nearly reaching the pane's outside edge, while a counter retainer flange (9) runs parallel to it one the channel base. The shaped stem (13) on the glazing assembly (12) incorporates a block-sectioned glazing batten lying against the outside pane edge and fitting against the retainer batten; this has an anchoring foot (14) between the two flanges and is braced against the counter flange to absorb torsional movement at the flange end. The frames cross-sectional configuration is simplified, and pane is held securely with min. separate components.
