The rotating shafts (3) and (4) are coupled together by the close fitting sleeve (1) which forms the inner race of the ball bearing (6, 7). A spigot (9) is formed at each end of the sleeve (1) and is eccentric to the sleeve bore. A collar (10) with an eccentric recess (12)whichis larger than the diameter of the spigot (9) is fitted to each of the shafts (3, 4). When the collar (10) is rotated it locks the shaft (3) or (4) to the sleeve (1). The collar (10) is rotated in the direction opposite to the shaft rotation so that the torque transmitted by the shaft tends to increase the collar locking torque. For added safety a grub screw (15) is used.
