Interference-free passive electro-optical display cell - with electrodes and conductor traces formed by doping transparent insulating layer

Passive electro-optical display cell has panel(s) of transparent material with electrodes (I) and conductor traces (II) on the inside, which form an integrated constituent of a transparent insulating layer (III) with the same coefft. of refraction and the same thickness as (I) and (II). Pref. (I) and (II) are doped zones of (III), which consists of metal oxide, esp. Sn or In oxide. Interference phenomena are eliminated. Pref. (I) and (II) are produced by doping Sn oxide with Sb ions or In oxide with Sn ions by ion implantation.
