Boring tool for spot welds in repaired vehicle bodies - has hand held power drill advanced toward support anvil by lever acting through spring

A tool to bore out spot welds e.g. during the repair of motor vehicle bodywork, includes an L-shaped bar which can move axially in guides, clamped to a hand-held drill. Operation of a knee joint compresses a spring and presses the metal sheets with the weld spot between the bar leg and the twist drill point. This can be added to any hand-held drill and removes weld spots without any deformation of the sheet metal itself. An L-shaped bar with a leg can slide in two inverted U-shaped guides (3, 3') which are fixed by a clamp (2) to a hand-held drill (1). A threaded extension (6) to the bar carries a ball (11) and a wing nut (12). A lever (9) is joined to the guide (3') by a pivot (8) and compresses a spring (13) by a fork (10) when pressed against the piston grip of the drill. This presses the metal sheets with the weld spot against the point of the twist drill which has a centering point.
