The mounting is for a sealing lip, strip etc. to the outside of a hollow profiled section as used in motor vehicle bodywork, holding it to the corner of the profiled section by screws and sockets. The screw hole (10) is punched out, leaving a burr (11) extending inwards in the mounting wall (4) of the profiled section, while in the adjacent wall (5) a rectangular insertion opening (8) is provided for the socket (6), the edge of this opening being clear of the mounting wall. The socket shank (12) has a transverse hole (13) accommodating the screw, and is resistant to bending loads, extending beyond the screw to a supporting foot (15) bearing against the mounting wall beyond the screw hole.
