Test tube inspection device for alcohol breath test - has opaque housing with internal lamp and comparator colour scale

A device for checking an alcohol test tube after it has been used comprises an internally illuminated housing, into which the test tube is inserted. The housing protects the test tube from external light sources and possess an internal light source and a viewing aperture shielded from this internal source. Pref. the viewing aperture contains a collecting lens which can be adjusted in its position by rotating its mounting tube which is screwed in with a thread of steep pitch. Pref. the internal tube is of transparent plastics and the lens is directly formed or moulded with it. Used for incepting a glass test tube contg. silica gel granulate in a test to estimate the alcohol content of a person's breath. The use of a shielded housing excluding all external light source eliminates some of the doubtful factors in such a test. The appts. is easy and simple to use.
