The shunting plant has a shunting carriage, with a pivoted shunting arm. The track has a tail brake in front of it. The shunting carriage (6) has brake and transportation arms (12, 13). The drive (7) is formed as a brake and transportation drive, and moves a wagon leaving the shunting track (9), into the connected track section (10) at an adjustable reference speed. The transportation drive is arranged so that waggons in the connected track (10) are moved back.
