In order to be able to secure a profiled shaft (6), for example a shaft, which is provided with grooves (7), of a rotary switch against axial displacement, a securing disc (13) is provided having an opening (14) which is matched in mirror-image form to the profile of the switch shaft (6). The inwardly directed lugs (15) of the opening (14), which engage in the grooves (7) of the securing disc (13) when the latter is pushed onto the switch shaft (6), have cutting edges (17). If the securing disc (13) is now twisted relative to the switch shaft (6) by means of a tool which engages on the mutually opposite holes (28), then the cutting edges (17) will cut into the outer surface of the switch shaft (6) and, in such a position, will prevent axial displacement of the switch shaft (6) with respect to the axially guided securing disc (13). Such an arrangement renders additional machining of the switch shaft (6) superfluous and ensures sufficient axial retention. IMAGE
