Therapeutic compositions contg. tripropylacetic acid derivs. of formula I are new (where Y is NH2 or the group OM; M is an alkali metal e.g. Na, K or Li) Spec. cpds. of (I) are when Y is NH2 or - ONa. The compsn. is useful for treatment of depression, schizophrenia and apragmatism.
