The tension meter has a case (2) with two feet (7). It also has a follower (12) and a follower pad (26). The feet (6, 7) and the pad (26) are placed on one side of the belt (C) while the follower (12) rest on the other side of the belt (12). The follower (12) applies a load to the belt, and any movement of the follower (12) is transmitted through pivots and levers to a pointer (39). Displacement of the pointer (39) along a scale (10) is proportional to the tension in the belt (C). The meter is for use in measuring the tension of vehicle drive belts.
