Easy assembly hinge for motor vehicle door - has additional pin boss on one half notched along length to assist assembly alignment

The hinge allows easy assembly, comprising two halves, one of which has a notch extending for part of its length allowing the hinge pin to be inserted sideways. The first half (1) has an even number of pin bosses, and the second (6) an odd number. On the latter there is an additional boss (7), with a notch (9) running for part of its length only, and there can be bores in all the bosses (4) through which the pin passes. The design allows a motor vehicle door to be easily manoeuvred into place during assembly, without the risk of damaging the paintwork etc.
