The combine harvester has an auxiliary grain cleaning device (19) capable of being brought into and out of service by opening and closing a spout (25) extending transversely from the usual conveyor (16) by removing and replacing a partition (26). The grain passes to a second conveyor (27), and via the second cleaning device (19) and a conduit (28) back into the conveyor (16). The partition (26) may be in the form of a sliding shutter. The second conveyor (27) crosses the first conveyor (16), and discharges into a contributor augur (21) of the second cleaning device (19). Grain from the device (19) is lead by an auger (23) into a duct (28).
