Mirror remote control for vehicle - has small motor-driven oil pump discharging into optional side of actuating piston containing cylinder

The assembly is used on cars for the remote control of accessories e.g. outside morrors. A small DC motor (16) drives a gear pump (12, 13). During rotation, oil from a reservoir (19) is sucked through a pipe (21) into the pump housing. Underneath the pump housing a cylinder (4) with centreline perpendicular to that of the motor is arranged. The cylinder contains a double acting piston with piston rod penetrating the face of the housing. The piston rod is connected to the accessory which it operates. By discharging oil from the pump into either side of the cylinder, the required translatory movement of the piston and remote conrol of the accessory is achieved. To swing the accessory in the required direction, the sense of rotation of the motor is changed.
