A sink-material separator (3) and a light-material separator (4) are separated by an overflow wall (2), but have a shared sump (10), to which a pump (12) is connected on the suction side. To vortex and homogenise the separator contents, the pump (12) is connectable on the pressure side via a pressure line (14) and a four-way valve (15) optionally to nozzles (19, 20) in the sink-material separator (3) or in the light-material separator (4) and to an outlet line (16).
