Accumulator with aq. acidic solns. of Pb salts as electrolyte and inert base electrodes for the active materials is improved in that the base electroes contain pigmenting additives based on chelate complexes of Ni or Co, with phthalocyanines, or dibenzotetra-aza-annulenes, or with oxides of these metal mixed with al oxide or TiO2. Pigmenting additives are pref. present as 0.01-10(esp. 0.3-3) wt.%.
