Loosely-woven fabric used as coating support - using brushed weft, for improved coating regularity

Fabric is prepd. for use e.g. for bitumen-impregnated waterproof covers, for the building industry. The fabric contains untwisted weft yarns which have been flattened, pref. by brushing after weaving, to close up gaps between consecutive yarns. By parallelising the weft and spreading it to close the gaps, using a brushing action, no distortion of the warp occurs during coating, and a more regular impregnation of the bitumen is achieved.
