The trailer caravan comprises a vehicle base, the cover of which can be folded down. The space defined by the base, the vertical walls and cover comprises living accommodation. The side walls (1, 2) of the vehicle are not connected to the front and rear walls, and can hinge around the length limiting edge of the floor (3). The top cover is of at least two-part structure (7, 8, 9) and each of its parts is hinged to the limiting head wall. Lengthways edges have, at some distance from the hinged connection with the head wall, a swivelable folding section. A tent structure is attached to the upper and side edges of the foldable side walls and the hinged fold units.
