The decorative lighting unit is for use on Christmas trees etc. and consists of a number of bulbs with a main lead and branch leads each connected to a light source. The branch lines can be disconnected from the main line. The main lead (1) consists of an elongated carrier, which is symmetrical with pairs of contact rails. Each branch lead (2) has a plug which can be plugged in at any point along the contact rail. The contact rail support has two slots, which engage the rails. The main lead terminate in a special contact for a top light fitting, e.g. for a star (10).
