The arrangement is intended for protecting a set of rail track switching points against unauthorised passing whilst the points are still in the open position relative to the direction of passing, particularly in the case of manually operated electrically switching points. Each of the two track directions (N, R) comprises an isolated section (10 to 11, 12 to 13) within the clearance warning sign (V), each section part of an electrical circuit containing a normally-energised track relay (at 16 and 17). The relay (16 or 17) is de-energised by a train approaching the points on one of the tracks (N or R) and the relay contacts energise the point switch so as to set the points in the position required for the direction of the approaching train.
