The sweeping device is for cleaning the ground and particularly for a machine with rotary head used in orchards. It comprises a bundle of blades (17) of spring material, bearing against the ground along their sides. One end of the bundle is secured in a holder (19), while the opposite blade ends are free. The blades can be mounted in ayes alongside each other and turn round each other to form a twisted bundle. Inside the mounting they can be bent into an M-shape. The machine can have a rotary head on the end of an arm, the blade bundles being mounted on the head at regular intervals in a truncated-cone pattern.
