Washing agents contain a wash-active agent and a skin softening agent comprising an ester or polyesterification prod. of cycloaliphatic or aromatic polycarboxylic acids with at least 5-7-membered C rings and OH-contg. polyoxalkyleneethers with 2-30 oxyalkylene units, in which the alkylene gp. contains 2-4C. The (poly)ester prods. have excellent skin softening effect and give washing agents with no or much reduced irritant effect on the skin.
