The load carrier for aerial conveyors of the double rail type comprises load carriers front and rear trolleys operably connected to the load carriers and shock absorbers mounted on the front trolley for dissipating kinetic energy associated with the starting and stopping of the load carrier. The front trolley comprises a body, a rod pivoted at one end to the body and pivotally connected at the other end to the load carriers and the shock absorbers connected at one end to the body and at the other end to the rod adjacent the other end of the rod. The shock absorbers extend substantially along the direction of movement of the load carrier.
