Strip lighting simulation for model railway carriage - uses strips of transparent plastic illuminated at each end

The simulating strip lighting uses two pieces of transparent plastic (1) (2). Each piece of plastic has a row of rivet holes (7) so that the two pieces can be joined together with rivets (4) (5) to make one continuous piece to suit the length of the carriage. An electric light bult (6) is fitted to the roof of the carriage at each end (8)(9) of the jointed strip. The light from the bulbs (6) shines into the plastic to produce the effect of a strip light.
