The RC Structures can be strengthened effectively using external high performance CFRP sheet or thin steel plate In the world, much research work has been done on the plated RC beams and columns bonded with CFRP or steel plate, but only little dealt with two-way RC slabs. Therefore, the behavior of the strengthened two-way slabs bonded with strips made of GERP or steel and subjected a central patch load was investigated in this paper. A plastic strip method employed to predict the strength of the plated two-way RC slabs was first proposed in this paper on the basis of the HILLERBORG' s advanced strip method. Comparison of the ultimate loads of the experimental plated slabs using these two methods reveals that the plastic method is of more precise and still on the safe side.
