The meat slicing machine is fitted with a depositing table with an area which can be extended. the slicing cutter (3) driven by a control assembly inside the housing (2) deposits the slices of meat in direction of an arrow (5) onto a plate (4). The plate (4) is travelling on rollers (14) between stop lugs (15) and (16). The distance between the two represents the width of the plate unit in travelling direction. The depositing point for each row of slices remains the same in relation to the slicer assembly while the plate (4) travels step-by-step away from the slicer to create tows of slices. When the plate (4) reaches the terminal position ie. when the roller (14) stops at the lug (16) a carrier mechanism causes the uppermost plate unit (6) to slide on top of the next unit (7) underneath thereby extending the depositing area for a further supply of slices.
