The control circuit is made using thin or thick film techniques and consists of resistors along one edge of a substrate. The resistors are electrically connected to contact pads near the edge. This edge of the substrate fits into spring contacts held in holes in a circuit board (7). Each spring contact contacts one contact pad on the substrate. The end of each spring contact away from the substrate is formed into a solder pin (4) that projects from the rear of the circuit board. The holes through which the spring contacts pass are metallised and lead to contact pads (72) on the rear of the board.
