Applying relief design to walls or partitions - by laying design-perforated film over plastered surfaces, coating with hardenable material and stripping web, leaving raised design on base
A structured (i.e. 3-dimensional, not flat) pattern or design upon the surface of interior or exterior building components is produced in situ, by rendering the components with cement mortar, plaster, hydraulic lime or the like; glueing a flexible web with apertures representing the intended pattern onto the rendering or embedding the web in it (taking advantage of the adhesiveness of the rendering to position the web and applying a top layer over the aperture web. The web is then pulled away from its base so that those areas of the top layer lying over the apertures remain, and set, on top of the rendering, forming the desired raised pattern. The web may be a PVC, polyester, nylon, polyethylene, polyurethane, silicone rubber, textile, film or foam web, or paper or metal sheeting.
