The multi-purpose table comprises two side panels (5, 6) which are provided on their insides (16) with three adjoining vertical rows of holes (7, 8, 9) for engagement with the retaining bolts (23) for the height-adjustable tip-up table top (1), the shelves (2, 3) and the rear wall (4). The vertical side edges (35, 36) of the rear wall (4) are provided at intervals corresponding to those between the holes with sockets (37, 38) for the retaining bolts whilst the side edges (17, 28) of the table top (1) are provided with sockets for the bolts (23) at the interval between the two outer rows of holes (7, 8). The side edges of the shelves (2, 3) are provided wit similar sockets (27, 32) at interval from the rear longitudinal edge (29, 34) of the shelves (2, 3) which matches the interval between the back row (8) and centre row (9) of holes.
