In the original design, the front wheels are borne on a spiral spring, while the rear wheels were sprung on a bent steel plate. This proved unsatisfactory, the rear wheel spring is used for the front wheels also. The pivot on which the front axle turns for steering is provided with 3 washers including an antifriction washer of PTFE.
