A device for the highly precise mounting of workpieces to be machined is proposed which can also be used for assembling basic devices in tool manufacture and the like and which starts from a plate-shaped grid clamping system. Located in the plate (2) are precision insert bushes (6) which are arranged at coordinate spacings, form fitting bores and are held in locating bores (5) of the plate by means of a hardenable material. Here, the precision of the grid spacing dimension formed by the insert bushes (6) originates from a master plate which is used repeatedly.
