The machine (1) is used for inking wide ribbons, as utilised on computers and similar equipment. The uncoated ribbon (18) passes over part of the circumference of an inking roller (2), the ink being contained in a well (17). A doctor roller (3) running at a higher speed regulates the ink film transferred onto the ribbon. This ribbon follows a path (19) defined by several tensioning pulleys (20 to 25) to finally be wound on a reel (26) by friction between two carrier arms (12) and a final roller (4). This roller is driven faster than the first, pulling the ribbon over its circumference to ensure uniform ink distribution over its surface.
