A composite panel for structural cladding of roofs etc. comprises a strong, impermeable sheet of flat or corrugated asbestos or cement board bonded to a core of insulating material of e.g. polystyrene or PVC lined with a sheet of asbestos, cement-, particle-, fibre- or plaster-board, plywood or metal. The layers may be joined by direct bonding or by use of adhesives or mechanical fasteners. The panel thickness depends on the application. Joints may be overlapped with an elastic seal and/or covered by channels filled with sealant. Suitable for cladding roofs or walls of industrial buildings in a single operation by semiskilled labour.
