Combined note-pad and file - holds pad in base and file cards in hinged lid

A combined note-pad and file or directory has a channel section base (1) with a hinged lid (3). The base (1) has two small pegs (11) for securing the note-pad (2). The file cards (9) fit inside the lid (3) and are covered by a plate (8) which has a corner tag (10). The file is opened by lifting the lid by means of the tag (10). The user's thumb is then placed on the edge of the required card (9) and the lid is partially closed allowing the plate (8) and unwanted cards to fall on the pad (2) and reveal the required card.
