A drawer of a filing cabinet, for storing cards, engraving plates, and similar articles in an upright position, is made of sheet metal. The base has a rectangular opening (4) with a flat rail (5) on each long side fixed to the undersurface of the base. The undersurfaces of these rails are covered with a layer of rubber. A light metal or plastic support (2) has slits and notches cut in its lower edge so that the central part can be bent forwards to form two tongues (8, 9) which fit underneath the rails (5). The support is held upright by inclined lugs (12) bent out of the body of the support (2). The edges of the lugs (12) are covered with a high friction material which holds the support in its intended position.
