Paper roll joining mechanism - has spring loaded lever with feeler and roller pressing strips together

The paper rol joining mechanism attaches the end of the paper from an exhausted roll to the start of a spare roll in a paper dispensing mechanism. A lever (7) pivots at one end in the mechanism housing near the strip of paper (1) dispensed from the roll (2) while its other end has a feeler (9) spring loaded against the strip. A spare roll (4) is mounted in the housing clear of and below the first roll (2) and also below the latter are a pair of pressure rollers, one (5) mounted on the lever and the other (6) in the housing. The strip (1) and the end of the paper (3) from the spare roll both phass between these rollers, and when the first roll is exhausted the lever swings the roller (5) on it towards the other one (6), pressing the two pape ends together, and joining them by friction.
