The rescue device for a bogged down vehicle is fitted to its driven wheels. It consists of a metal frame piece with its central part flat. One end of this piece is shaped to match the tyre tread and the other end is slightly cranked. The cranked part rests on a spacer shaped to fit the wheel hub and is held by a locking nut. The spacer can be fitted to one of the wheel retaining studs. The outer part, resting on the tyre tread, is serrated to give additional traction.
