Thermoplastic sheets are moulded in plant which softens the raw sheet by a hot pressurised gas heater, a crossbeam moving vertically moulds it under pressure, and a device moves the hot sheet from the heater to the pressure moulding point. The raw sheet is placed between two plates of the heater and they have gps. of surface holes, each connected to the hot pressurised gas, the top plate has a device to hold the sheet while it is moved into the moulding posn. and is connected to the movement mechanism which is linked to the beam of the moulding point. Simple construction is esp. suitable for producing large sheets with complicated sections.
